What Does a German Cockroach Look Like?
German cockroaches are a small to medium size cockroach that grows from ½ to 5/8 of an inch in length. They are a shiny tan or brown colored cockroach that has two distinct stripes on their head, leading down from their eyes. It is the two stripes that make German cockroaches easier to identify. A German cockroach has seven stages of development. They start very dark in color–almost black–and lighten up as they mature. Even at a young age you can see the dark stripes on their head.
