What Do Bed Bugs Eat?
Bed bugs only nutrition source is blood. They must feed once during each of their immature stage in order to mature into adults. Additionally, in order to produce eggs, adult females also need blood. Despite biting people, they are not linked to spreading any diseases. However, some people can experience some degree of an allergic reactions, depending on their sensitivity.
Signs of Bed Bugs in Your Home
Bites and the presence of bed bug feces and shed skins are some of the indications of a bed bug infestation and blood spots found on the sheets are all evidence of bed bugs. The hands, face, neck, shoulders, legs and arms and other parts of the body that are more likely to be exposed to bed bugs during sleep are where the bites generally occur. Though the bed bug bite reactions do not always happen immediately, the bite marks are small, itchy, red, or blistered, and can be flat or slightly raised with inflammation. Within a few days the bite marks will dissipate, however, everyone reacts to bed bugs differently.
What Does a Bed Bug Bite Look Like?

Due to the sensitivity, people experience various reactions. The number of times an individual has been bitten also impacts the size of the bite and so does the reactions the person has to them. Bed bug bites appear in tight lines of multiple, red marks that are small where multiple bed bugs have fed, unlike other insect bites. These bed bugs bites often result in itchiness where the host will often detect a slight burning sensation that then develops in red bumps. Bites may swell dramatically or turn into blister-like skin inflammations in extreme cases. Scratching at these bites can evolve into a secondary infection, with further swelling and even bleeding.
