Cockroach Control & Extermination
Throughout the world, cockroaches have been plaguing man, and Texas is no exception. Cockroaches are not only grotesque looking, but their indifference to where they spend their time and what they are willing to consume can make even the most iron stomach a bit twitchy. Cockroaches, no matter their species, can spread harmful diseases, bacteria and germs. Cockroaches also induce allergy symptoms and cause considerable damage to property in an effort to forage for food and nesting materials. In a nut shell, no one wants a cockroach infestation. The most common cockroaches found in your business or home across San Antonio, Texas are the American Cockroach, German Cockroach, Oriental Cockroach, and the Smokey Brown Cockroach.
American Cockroach Control
American Cockroaches are one of the biggest species found in the United States. They are also one of the fastest critters. Though they have wings, they rarely fly and when they do, it is clumsy and awkward flight patterns. American Cockroaches can get over 2” long, are reddish brown and have a yellow banded mark on the back of their heads. They prefer warm and damp places. Outside they can be spotted in mulch and flowerbeds and indoors they prefer kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and warm basements.
Oriental Cockroach Control
Oriental Cockroaches are black or dark reddish brown and shiny. They usually grow just over a 1” long. They do not have wings, but have wing pads incapable of flight. They prefer mulch and leaf litter in the outdoors but can adapt easily inside. These nasty pests will come up through your sewers and have no problem eating sewer and trash. Because of their behavior, they easily spread E.coli and salmonella.
German Cockroach Control
German Cockroaches are light brown or tan and measure in at just over ½”. Like the American Cockroach, the German Cockroach has wings, can fly, but prefers to stick on their own feet. They are commonly brought into homes or businesses through freight or packages. They will feed on anything including toothpaste, soap, and book bindings.
Smoky Brown Cockroach Control
Smokey Brown Cockroaches are mostly concentrated in Texas and so named for its dark brown coloring. Their wings are strong making them established fliers. They seek warm, moist and well protected areas to call home. They will feed on plant matter, crumbs, other dead insects, and fecal matter.
