Oatmeal, Chamomile Tea & Other Home Remedies for Mosquito Bug Bites that Itch & Swell in Cibolo, TX

Hopefully this summer you have been thoroughly enjoying spending some extra time with your family. The warm summer temperatures are perfect for spending time outside while your kids are out of school. As you enjoy the great outdoors you may find that you get bit by some of the different insects that are out. If you find yourself with mosquito bites you may be having a hard time not itching them ferociously. Today A Five Star Termite & Pest Control has put together some tips for you on how to stop that itching.

Stop Mosquito Bites Itching in Seconds with Oatmeal & Water

The first tip we have for you is to use oatmeal and water. We know that using breakfast food may seem strange but it is extremely effective. You will mix equal parts oatmeal and water in a bowl. Take some of the mixture and put it on a washcloth. Hold the washcloth down over the bite for approximately 10 minutes. Then wipe the area clean. If you have a large amount of bites you may want to try an oatmeal bath. Fill your tub with warm water and then sprinkle 1 cup of oatmeal into the water. Soak in the oatmeal bath for 20 minutes. Oatmeal has compounds in it that can help relieve the itching and swelling caused by your mosquito bites.

Rubbing Alcohol Mosquito Bite Relief

Our next tip is super helpful if your bites are extremely itchy. It will require some rubbing alcohol. You will take the rubbing alcohol and wipe it onto the bite with a paper towel or cotton ball. Do not soak the paper towel or cotton ball with the rubbing alcohol or it can irritate your skin. A small amount of rubbing alcohol will help relieve the itching though.

Chamomile Tea for Mosquito Bite Swelling

The third idea that we have for you to try is chamomile tea. Chamomile is a natural remedy that is commonly used for many different ailments. It can reduce inflammation, ease irritation, and speed up the healing. For this method you will steep a bag of chamomile tea in water in your refrigerator for 30 minutes. Take the tea bag out of the water and squeeze out the excess water. Then put the tea bag directly on your mosquito bite. Let the tea bag sit for 10 minutes. Then wipe the area clean with a wet rag. If you want to repeat the process you can put the tea bag back in the fridge in some water.

Honey on Mosquito Bites

If none of these tips are working for you hopefully this one will. Grab some honey and apply a small drop directly on your mosquito bite. Honey has many antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that have been known to help with all sorts of different issues. Honey should help your mosquito bites heal faster.
